- Participation in a residency program is an ideal way to launch or continue an artistic practice after graduation from NSCAD.
- NSCAD University offers year-long residency programs for recent grads (or alumni who have graduated within the past three years) in four sites. The locations are embedded within the vibrant and distinctive communities of Lunenburg, Sydney, New Glasgow and Dartmouth.
- The alumni artists are expected to be active participants in their host communities to increase interest in the arts.
- The residency provides artists prime studio space in exchange for community involvement, such as working with elementary and secondary school students and engaging local residents in the visual arts through workshops, exhibitions, lectures, and receptions.
- The art and craft produced in these residencies both support and invigorate the established arts and culture within these vibrant and distinctive communities.
